Shawn Lepine is an integral part of Kamanu Composites as a laminator and composite technician. He joined Kamanu Composites in January of 2008 bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding canoe construction. He takes part in all aspects of production, although is most often found in the lay-up room laminating your canoe with Kelly. Shawn learned how to build canoes while working for Kai Wa'a out of Waimanalo, but before that he did auto body and fiberglass work in Washington and Canada. On top of working full-time at Kamanu Composites, he also runs a successful canoe repair shop out of his house in Kailua.
