Danny Ching is the representative of Kamanu Composites for Southern California. Danny has been paddling canoes designed by John Puakea since 2002, and is currently racing on a Kaimana in California and a Kainalu in Hawai'i. Growing up in Redondo Beach, Danny spent most of his time in the ocean: surfing, swimming, and paddling. While in High School, he began to show his athletic prowess by getting the school record in the 50-meter free style, a record that he repeated while at college. He attained his BS in Business Administration from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2007 and is now a lifeguard for LA County. In 2002 he won his first OC-1 race in California, and started a flawless winning streak in California which has continued until today. On top of that he's placed third two times in the Moloka'i Solo and won the Catalina Relay four times.
